Hi and thanks for your question. At the time the research was conducted, Asians and Latin@s were counted together. I’m sure that now the count would be separated. The statistics I stated are three years old, for what it’s worth, so I hope if the count were done in 2014, the numbers would be different and for the better.

I just have a quick question about the stats at the beginning. Asians and Latin@s each make up 1.4% of characters represented on book covers, correct? The way it’s written in the post it reads like they’re being counted together (1.4% total for Asians and Latin@s rather than 1.4% individually, 2.8% total). Does that make any sense?
