Promotion

Here at Rich in Color, our goal is to promote young adult books, both fiction and nonfiction, that are written by or star people of color or people from First/Native Nations. (This means they should be the primary viewpoint or co-viewpoint in fiction or be the focus/subject in nonfiction.) As part of these promotions, we are actively seeking guest posts, interviews, chapter previews, giveaways, and other marketing activities for new books that qualify for our site. We are particularly interested in debut authors of color or authors from First/Native Nations. Due to limited resources, we are unable to accept self-published or electronic-only books. We reserve the right to decline to promote a book.

Posts will be scheduled as close as possible to the book’s release date, though the slots are first-come, first-served. If you would like to be considered for one of the aforementioned promotional activities, please review these guidelines prior to contacting Audrey:

Guest Posts: 300 to 1,000 words. Guest posts can be on any topic related to the book that is being released. Topics will need to be approved prior to submission. Pictures (author photo, book cover, etc.) and relevant links (websites, social media, etc.) are strongly encouraged.

Interviews: 300 to 1,000 words (not including questions). The Rich in Color bloggers will provide five to ten questions for the author to answer. Questions will focus on the author, the new book, and other relevant topics. Pictures (author photo, book cover, etc.) and relevant links (websites, social media, etc.) are strongly encouraged.

Previews: One to two sample chapters will need to be provided in an accepted file format (.doc, .docx, or .rtf). Pictures (author photo, book cover, etc.) and relevant links (websites, social media, etc.) are strongly encouraged.

Giveaways: Can be done solo or in conjunction with guest posts, interviews, or previews. At least one copy will need to be available (signed preferred, but not required). Pictures (author photo, book cover, etc.) and relevant links (websites, social media, etc.) are strongly encouraged.

Miscellaneous: Please contact Audrey to pitch other ideas.
