Banned Books Week Day 2

In support of Banned Books Week, all of us contributors will be sharing a favorite challenged book and why we love it so. Today, Audrey is sharing a very important book.

Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds
We don’t often cover non-fiction books at Rich in Color, but Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds was our group discussion book for Summer 2020. It was a fantastic read, and it gave gave me a vocabulary and a framework talking about how racism is constructed and upheld. This straightforward and thoughtful exploration of history was one of the most challenged books of 2020, but Stamped would be a valuable addition to any school or public library. It definitely has a place in mine!
